Out with the old and in with the new...in more ways than one! Do you take the time to reflect on the year just passed and plan for the one to come? It has never been so important for me as it is now. Why? In a word, CHANGE. Things change. I have changed. A little over one year ago I made a life changing decision. It was one in a series, some I was in control of, some I wasn't. This one was done with PURPOSE and I had a PLAN. It was something that had developed over the previous three years...and I am happy to report it is working!! Joining Keller Williams Cape Cod was the best thing I could have done for many reasons...and being a Realtor is fun, challenging and amazing all rolled into one! I know I am so much more too, that is the best part!

I have always joked about not knowing "what I want to be" when I grow up. I loved my job as a teacher, especially my students and co-workers, but there were parts of it that didn't fit, and even before I got laid off in the summer of 2009, I was searching for something additional. Nothing specific, but more than what I had. There are things I have learned, about myself, my family, my newest career, and the world at large this year that I am not sure I would have come across elsewhere. In no particular order, these are 10 things that I have learned in 2012. Some of these things I may have heard before, but it wasn't time for me to listen or perhaps put it into practice. I didn't create these things, they weren't mine, but they are now, and I am choosing to share, just like others have done before me, so I could benefit. Maybe now is your time to hear, or listen, as you choose...

~ Numbers matter
~ Consistency is key
~ Time block/ Prioritize
~ What you focus on expands
~ There is a fine line between competency and chaos
~ The value of a plan comes with the actions connected to it
~ Time with family and friends is important, so is time to relax and enjoy life
~ Its important to figure out what you are good at, and work on what you aren't
~ Self-improvement is an on-going process, it can be fun, and sometimes painful
~ Surround yourself with people you want to be like, watch them, ask them questions, take the time to learn from them

There is more that I took in this past year, and more I will take in this coming year. I am ever so grateful for both. I will elaborate on each of these in future posts, so stay tuned...feel free to reflect and share.
