You've heard the sayings: More than meets the eye, don't judge a book by its cover, or looks can be deceiving. Well from the road this property offers curb appeal, for sure, however, its more then 3800 sq.ft. of living space is not immediately apparent. So, come on in and see for yourself how amazing this beautiful home really is.
From the moment you enter this light, bright, warm and welcoming home, you are greeted with style and elegance.
This one owner, custom contemporary ranch was built in 1998 and has been meticulously maintained. Suited to one floor living (with an en suite master, laundry room and guest bed/ bath on the main level,) this home also boasts plenty of room for friends and family to stay and play with a finished lower level (an additional 2 beds and 2 baths) with direct access to the in-ground, heated pool!

The living room is bright and airy, yet comfortably welcoming. Cathedral ceilings, a wood burning fire place and sliders to the balcony over-looking the pool combine to give a feeling of extravagance while keeping the warmth.

Taking a "more is better" attitude, a heated, in-ground pool was added to the property in 2006. It is directly off the back of the house with access from the deck above as well as through several doors on the lower level. The concrete patio surrounding it offers plenty of space to relax and sunbathe or entertain. There is also direct access to a 3/4 bath from the pool area that allows for easy use when needed.

And last, but certainly not least, is the Manor House. Sitting on Coonamessett Pond on the southern-most part of Coonamessett Circle, this facility is owned and maintained by the association. Annual and committee meetings are held here. It provids the perfect setting for special occasions, especially weddings, and offers catered dinners to residents on various Saturday evenings throughout the summer. The view is spectacular and there is a smaller beachfront area to visit here as well.

Read on to see what the owners have to say about some commonly asked questions regarding their home...
What do you
love about Falmouth / East
Falmouth ?
We love the convenience – very
close to Rte. 28, easy to head toward the bridge or to go into Falmouth or Woods Hole.
Lochstead is a beautiful, serene oasis just off the main roads, like camp for
grownups.
What are your
favorite restaurants near your home?
For fast food: The Pizza Guyz on
151, has good pizza and really nice sandwiches and wraps as well as Italian
standards. We also like Rte. 151 Drive-In at the corner of 151 and Rte. 28A. Up
a notch or more, we like the two very good Italian restaurants in Falmouth Center : La Cucina sul Mare and Osteria
La Civetta. We love Wicked Pizza (Mashpee), and enjoy Blu and Trevi (Mashpee
Common), Chapoquoit Grill on 28A. Great lobster rolls at Chart Room. (For a
real treat – The Belfry Inn, Sandwich . Great
for a special occasion. Expensive.)
What grocery
stores do you like to shop at ? Why?
Roche Brothers and Stop & Shop
are our standard grocery stores. Jack in the Beanstalk has great produce. We
generally shop at the stands for vegetables – tomatoes and corn – in the
summer, apples in the fall. Cape Cod Bagels (Palmer Ave. ) are really good.
Are there any
specialty stores you frequent? Which ones and why?
French bakery in downtown Falmouth . Braun in
Mashpee Common is great for gifts, along with many other small shops.
Why would
someone want to move to this area; why were you attracted?
Lochstead is a great community.
There are opportunities for socializing, for golf or tennis partners, and dinners
at the Manor House. Residents can get very involved in community activities or
not – there is a small board with a number of committees if residents want to
participate.
Any great
schools or other things to mention that you know about?
Because we were mostly weekend
residents in the 25 years we’ve been here, we don’t know much about the schools,
but the Lochstead community now has many owners who are full time residents who
know the town better than we do. There’s plenty to do – check out Woods Hole,
the Aquarium, the College Light Opera Company (all college students). Good to
subscribe to the Falmouth Enterprise to check out activities, music, theater,
arts and all of the summer (as well as year-round) activities.
Anything else
you can think of that someone buying your home should know?
July 4th on the
Falmouth Common, and fireworks at the beach in the evening. We have thoroughly
enjoyed Falmouth .
The town is beautiful, big enough so that you have access to pretty much
whatever you need, welcoming but not glitzy. Falmouth Hospital
is excellent – hope you never need it.
What did you
do for interests/ hobbies/ entertainment around town or close by?
Not much. We thoroughly
enjoy our home, we love to host family and friends, whether for a weekend, an
afternoon at the pool, dinner, or all of the above. We do get to the movies in Falmouth , Mashpee or Sandwich
where we have friends. At least once every summer, we like to take a day trip
down Rte. 6A, stopping to visit some of the shops and the National Seashore
beach in Truro .
So beautiful! Sometimes we make it down to Provincetown
-- always fun.
